Rockefeller's Rules of Trade
Rockefeller's rules of trade:
- Follow the laws of trade. High class.
- Keep to broad and sure lines, and study their reason.
- Watch the natural operations of trade and keep within them.
- Don't overthink temporary or sharp advantages.
- Don't waste your effort on a thing that ends with petty triumph.
- Be sure you see your way clear to a successful end.
- Look ahead.
- Study capital requirements. Fortify yourself because setbacks will come.
- Be sure you're not deceiving yourself on actual conditions.
- The man who seeks to get rich won't succeed. You must have a higher mission.
- There can be no permanent success without the kind of conduct that leads to widespread confidence in the man himself. That's the real capital.
- Don't lose your head over a little success or become discouraged by a little failure.
And one question worth sitting with: "Where can I fit in where I can be most helpful?"
