The Day I Decided to Step Back Up
When I left LinkedIn I was absolutely gassed. I had two weeks in between jobs to catch my breath. I got super into making ramen from scratch, matcha in chawan. You know the vibes.
But, more importantly, I wanted to think about anything but working. I was afraid of the next road in front of me.
We're in lockdown now. May 1 is the earliest we'll be able to come back outside. The world is quiet. And in that quiet, I made a decision.
I decided I was going to step back up. I decided I was going to approach this new opportunity with everything I had.
And, I was terrified.
To create space from my fear, I imagined the type of professional that I wanted to be in 5 years. He was very cool, very competent, very smart. I decided to embody him as much as possible. And, maybe, maybe, I'd be okay.
The plan:
- Start learning React Native.
- Design a mockup of what the product should be.
- Reach out to engineers.
