Thoughts on Dance

I got back into West Coast Swing for a bit. And I learned a lot from a dance teacher of mine. Here are some of those lessons:

"Every song has a story to tell. Dance is uncovering that song's protagonist and physically expressing the story." — Dance teacher

"I want to dance so that a deaf person will hear the music." — Dance teacher

Dance is art. Competition is war. Dance competition is the war of art.

Dance is chaos. Competition is control. Dance is the individual. Competition is society.
